Description
The Building Safety Levy (BLS) will come into effect from the Autumn of 2026 and its remit will target almost all developers, raising serious concerns about its impact on SMEs. It will levy (tax) on average between 0.5% and 1% of a homes sale price, based on the m2 floorspace of a home.
Although there are still elements to be decided, the Government has published its consultation response and our guidance details what you need to know. We have also created a Building Safety Levy (BSL) calculator as an Excel document that you can download and calculate your future BSL liability.
