Milestones on the road of Starmer’s “Plan for Change” Missions
On 5 December the Prime Minister, Sir Kier Starmer, launched his “Plan for Change” at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. Two of the Missions were housing and infrastructure. On 12 December and 13 December, it announced the milestones to achieve them:
- “Rebuilding Britain” – building 1.5m homes during the life of this Parliament and fast-tracking planning decisions on at least 150 major infrastructure projects, and
- “Clean Power 2030” – delivering 95% clean power by the end of the decade.
The Government’s “missions” are to be supported by “milestones”: Starmer said this Plan doubled down on the government’s national Missions which would be supported by new, measurable, Milestones because “mission-led government was a plan for the nation.”
