Set-up for Leaning Ladders

  • Daily Pre-use Check: Always inspect the ladder, including its feet, before use.
  • Secure the Ladder: Ensure it is properly secured to prevent slipping.
  • Ground Conditions: The ground should be firm and level. If the ground has a side slope, it should not exceed 16°; level the rungs with a suitable device. The back slope should not exceed 6°.
  • Upper Resting Point: The ladder should have a strong upper resting point, avoiding materials like plastic guttering.
