John is an expert in insurance-related dispute resolution, with 20 years’ experience of conducting litigation for insurers and their policyholders. John has significant experience of coverage and defence work in the professional indemnity insurance markets and specialises in insurance, professional indemnity and construction and engineering law. John specialises in representing professionals at the instruction of Insurers and brokers and has extensive experience of acting for solicitors, architects, engineers, surveyors, main contractors, specialist sub-contractors and employers.
James M. Butcher
James Butcher is the Deputy Chief Executive the National Federation of Builders as well as a member of the UK’s Construction Leadership Council which is co-chaired by the Construction Minister. James is responsible for the NFB’s day to day operations and overall business performance, and directly oversees the membership services, marketing and policy departments. James is also a member of the CITB’s Levy Strategy Committee and chairs the CITB Heritage Sector Skills Plan group.
Richard Clutterbuck
With over 30 years of experience at HMRC as a Compliance Specialist, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to The Guild. During his time at HMRC, Richard honed his skills in navigating complex tax regulations, becoming an expert in compliance matters. After transitioning into accountancy, he focused on supporting clients facing HMRC employment and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) tax enquiries and challenges.
Vaughan Hart
Vaughan Hart is an accomplished Human Resources professional with over 35 years of extensive experience in the Construction Sector, Facilities Management, Hospitality, and Retail. Vaughan’s career commenced in operational and site management roles, eventually transitioning to Learning and Development and Senior HR generalist positions. His professional journey led him to become a Chartered Human Resources Professional, contributing significantly to both single and multi-site businesses within multi-national Companies
Sean Houlston
Sean is the NFB’s Associate Director of Membership. With a background in politics and strategic project engagement, he started his career at the heart of government as Head of Office to a senior Member of Parliament. Sean joined the NFB from the energy, regeneration and construction sector where he was responsible for stakeholder engagement and Public Relations on some of the country’s biggest infrastructure construction projects.
Mia Silverfield
Mia Silverfield is the Strategy and Technical Manager for the National Federation of Builders (NFB). After completing her apprenticeship in Public Relations and Communication, Mia has taken on the responsibility of managing the NFB’s correspondence and engagement with parliamentary stakeholders, representing the key interests and concerns of NFB members to policymakers. Mia contributes to the creation and design of guidance and briefing resources, ensuring they are useful and beneficial for NFB members. Additionally, she operates as part of the NFB press team, circulating and composing news articles that are distributed to key trade publications and national news outlets
Joanne Williams
Jo Williams is the NFB Membership Manager and uses her passion for the construction industry to look after and support our members. The most experienced member of the team, Jo has served the National Federation of Builders in a number of roles for over 20 years.
Rico Wojtulewicz
Director of Policy and Market Insight, Rico Wojtulewicz has been the NFB’s policy mainstay for a decade, ensuring members views and issues are always raised with local and central government. With a history in the public and private sector, Rico always found planning to be the barrier to growth, business opportunities or better services and came to the NFB after trying to save a leisure centre from closure.
Eddie Hughes
Having started his professional life as a civil engineer, Eddie’s journey through the housing sector has including managing housing development and maintenance projects, chairing the board of a housing association, serving as a Housing Minister in Government, and now finds him supporting the Church of England in its housing ambitions.
